Why Do Most Modern Truck Designs Suck?
Why on Earth do manufactures have to curve every damn surface of automobiles nowadays? Some are not bad like the new 2014 Chevy Silverado, but some of the other ones, like the Dodge rams, look terrible. I'm in the market for a truck so I was wondering if there are any modern models that kinda give a throwback to the 1980's or early 90's. Or is it affordable to do a body swap on a 80's Sierra or Silverado and put it on a newer model?

welcome......Save the depreciation of a new truck and just find a nice late 90s Chevy/GMC.

I hear ya Marcus and agree. And if I might expand on your rant a little further.
I miss the day of being able to do most or all of your own repairs in the driveway. The new truck designs and the extent of the on-board computers is making these new trucks life expectancy shorter, That's why I'm restoring my 57 Chev truck and making my 87 Chev 4x4 an everyday driver and putting my 07 DMax Silverado up for sale |
I own a 2011 ford ranger but to be honest, I feel that older trucks are more durable, My neighbor has a well-restored 1961 Chevrolet Apache and it's a beauty. If I could just afford to restore an old truck like it, I would definitely have no qualms to replace it with my ranger.

I guess they think their design looks good? Yes, they don't have to change the design so drastically all the time just to be "modern". Guess it depends on buyer's taste, maybe a lot of them think it's sleek. I own a 2007 chevy silverado btw. I think the classic truck designs in the 80s are still mean.

I would kill to have my uncle's 87 back. He bought it brand new for $11,000
