vortech heads installed on tbi chevy 350

I have been looking into putting vortech heads on my '95 Chevy 350. (As a note I would like to add that I am wanting to keep my tbi if at all possible). I have heard so many different stories, options, etc. so I'm just going to ask. What all will it take? I have heard getting a custom chip for starters. I have been looking around but can't seem to find one very easy. So besides that what all will I need as far as an intake manifold, cam, etc.? I have also read somewhere that the drivers side exhaust manifold for the vortech is required for some certain sensor. Is this an absolute necessity? Because I would prefer to not do that because I would like to keep my headers that I have on now. I have also heard that you can get your original heads worked to make them perform the same. I have also tossed the idea around of doing away with the throttle body and installing a carb but I will be using this truck a lot and would like to get as much out of it for gas mileage as possible. I am hoping that someone that has completed a project like this could give me some info but any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I really know nothing about this, but I would go ask an engine builder about it. As far as I know, slapping on some vortec heads will change your compression ratio. And I also think that part of the "vortec" package adds in different cylinders.
