I have never personally believed the hype behind the split fire plugs. I have always had good luck with AC Delco's & NGK's, but you will get different opinions depending on individual previous experiences. I bought a 1993 K1500 and it had an MSD ignition on it. It didn't feel or perform any better than my other stock trucks. I removed it and it made absolutely no difference so I sold it. I think with an otherwise stock truck the factory ignition is very sufficient. There is a great tech section over on FullSizeChevy.Com just for the TBI motors. Those guys will be able to tell you what works and what doesn't. Good Luck!
