- Really no mods. But- I had a 23000 mile 5.7 tbi laying in garage and installed it (after pulling the engine that was smoking its lungs). It came with a (supposedly) rebuilt 4L80E Trans, and rebuilt Transfer Case. I put it all in there.
I had to install right side Upper Control Arm bushings, right front shock, right side Upper Ball Joint, and Oh Jeeeeez did I have to go through the fragile and brittle wiring harness! That was a total mess. I had to make a complete Rear Chassis Harness.
The crazy part was, after dropping in the engine and gettingit all bolted together. This is when I noticed the crushed Oil filter against the front axle yoke. It took me forever beating that filter, till I got it off to chage it to the right Filter (after I added the right adapter for oil filter/oil cooler). Had to put that Transfer case in by myself (which is something that I really dont recommend because that is a total mutha! - Gender
