1998 instrument cluster problem
 

I have a 1998 GMC Sierra k 1500 & I’m trying to repair a little @ a time. The inst.panel lights have always worked, now today I take the shroud off to install a new climate switch. Upon putting it on to discover the complete Instrument Panel lights are NOT WORKING! Checked fuses = none blown. Can someone tell me what happened? Also
The headlight switch lit up for the first time during all this, BUT when turning the switch (headlights) on the illumination WENT OUT !
Someone please help or is this truck possessed?
