Is 4wd right for me? I wan't to get either a Ford Ranger or Toyota Tacoma. I want a truck cause I think they're cool, I want to haul a small boat jon boat around 400 pounds maybe once a week.I live in Northern Illinois where the winter roads can be brutal. The 4wd would give me added comfort. I won't be doing any offroading.

Based on my needs, is 4wd worth the added money and possible problems late down the road right for me? Thank you[/align]

 

I don't see how 4wd would cause additional problems ...and even if you aren't planning on doing any offroad, having the 4wd is good insurance.
