98 GMC Sierra SLE

Clicking noise in Oil pan when cold. No noise in top end. Rod bearings maybe? If so can they be replaced from below w engine in? Remove oil pan, etc?

I have done it before in a camaro when I was a kid...with the engine in all i had to do was remove the pan.
