Convince my parents to let me get e truck.

How do I convince my parents to let me get a truck? I am still in high school.

Get a job, save some money, show you can pay for it.....and then tell them how useful a truck would be around the house.

Oh....and go to bed, being up at 3am and playing on the computer doesnt show much responsibility.....

I wasn't 3 where I live though. But I have been showing my dad I am responsible by washing and waxing the family cars and other stuff.

If you don't mind JonnyLeonard.. Can I ask you how old are you?

Keep in mind.. There is a difference between being a Model / Helpful son then being a Responsible son.

Unless washing and waxing the family car is your job and responsibility... it is a nice gesture when ever you do it.

Definition of RESPONSIBILITY :
re·spon·si·ble
adjective: responsible
Having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for something or someone, as part of one's job or role.

(of a job or position) involving important duties, independent decision-making, or control over others.

Hope this helps.

Also...What kind of truck are you looking for and what do you want to do with it? If you want some big 4x4 that you can offroad and make all kinds of mods too, your parents may frown on that. If on the other hand, you want a basic small truck for transportation and help around the house with, that may be a different story in their minds.
Back when I was 16, no one would be caught dead in a pickup....We all wanted a hot rod. I kept bringing home these cars I wanted to buy....440 GTX, Chevy SSs etc....Dad sent me straight back with them. Finally I got smarter and brought home a 63 Falcon convertible with a 6 cyl and 3 on the tree.....That was OK with him. Drove it for a couple of years until I got on my own insurance and a better job and then progressed into the Chevelle SS that I wanted....I can see thinking back how right my dad was

I am 16 years old and do have my license. I want either a 70's ford bronco, an 70's/80's chevy blazer. I want it so I can make my business, a lawn mowing business, bigger and increase my revenue. Because with a truck I can expand my business by going to other neighborhoods rather then staying local. I need to haul a lawn mower around and pulling it on a bike is not very efficient. I also want it because I can put my bike in it when I need to ride somewhere.

Admirable.......a couple of issues.... I see that those vehicles are gas hogs...I would think that you may want something better on gas, maybe something smaller.
The other thing is, with those vehicles and a lawn service, you will need a trailer.....more expense. I am suggesting maybe an s10 or Ranger pickup. Better on gas and you can throw your lawn equipment in the back

That sounds good Jonny As Poncho says, your gonna need the extra cash to buy a trailer. If it was a pickup like a Ranger or a Dakota or S10 or S15 you could haul your equipment in the back.

I have to give you credit, Your idea does make you sound very responsible.
But as stated earlier. Broncos and Blazers aren't a practical vehicle for hauling gas powered equipment.
