New Member here, wanting to buy new truck
Hello, I'm new here so if I posted this in the wrong place please excuse me.
I'm looking to buy a new 4x4 truck. So far I've looked at (and test drove) the 2006 F150 Super Cab FX4 and the 2006 Chev Silverado Ext Cab Z71. I'm not really much a fan of the exterior of the Dodge, or the imports.
My plans for the truck are to raise it a bit (not sure if I want 4" or 6" lift kit) with bigger tires that suit the new stance. I also want a mean lookin grille guard (preferably stainless steel) with side steps that have a similar look. I'm thinking that the combination of these with the truck (a dark color, not black) would make a beautiful mean looking truck. I guess you could compare what I'm trying to do with the trucks in the 2Fast2Furious movie where they ram all the cop cars.
As for options when buying the truck, most of the options I want are included in the packages, but the powered moon roof is a must. I like that the Ford has powered windows for the rear doors, in addition to the center console with floor shifting. I like the front end of the Silverado, how its meaner looking...but not entirely sure how that look plays with grille guards.
Currently I own a 2003 Silverado (2wd) and have not had any complaints. I am not a brand loyal truck driver (eg: Chevy is only way to go for whatever reason) and want a good truck for the money I'm going to spend, even if it would cost me a couple extra grand for the superior truck.
What I was hoping for from this post, is your thoughts on what I'm trying to do along with suggestions, even sites that I could check out with images I could use for comparison. I've been trying to find such sites for the last couple hours, but only seem to find sites that sell the parts & accessories for the trucks, with few images.

go to websites like extreme 4x4 or trucks. They have parts and pictures of what it would look like on cerntain trucks. You can also go to www.truckworld.com they have a bunch of pictures of trucks and most of the time it says were you can get that part at.

hey well i dont really know much about the cars but the silverado SS Ext. Cab Short Bed AWD comes with a standard 6 L 345 hp V8 that gets 14 MPG city and 16 highway. Thats pretty bad 
the FX4 comes with a 5.4L 300 hp engine that gets 14 MPG. Depending on what type of FX4 you get (Supercrew, regular, or extended cab) the prices will vary. i would pick the ss cuz i think the front looks freakin sick
