New Member need help with Tailgate hinge

HELP!! I have a 1995 Sierra 1500 Truck 4x4 and need to replace the left Tailgate inner and outer hinge, I orderedthe replacements from GMC parts. The hinge that attaches to the truck was easy to replace. The hinge on the tailgate I could not remove, appears to be welded on. My question is, is that true, is the tailgate hinge welded on at the factory, if so how do I install the new hinge, I assume I have to get that one welded also?

Yep..welded...
usually,we replace the truck half,and straighten the tailgate half and she's fine
