Howdy everyone!
I have a brand spanking new 2008 Sierra (5.3L) that I have a question about. I had a cat-back dual exhaust installed right after taking delivery of the truck, it sounds awesome! I am thinking about the other end of the truck now. I had a K&N filter in my 2004 Silverado, honestly dont know if I noticed any improvements to gas mileage/power with the stock replacement filter from them installed. With the Sierra before I drop the cash, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with the spendier cold air induction kits from K&N or any other mfg's and would I notice something with the $300 induction kit that I would not notice with the $50 stock replacement filter? I will tow a 18' aluminum fishing boat with the truck and any more hp/torque I can find will be a good thing. A improvement in mileage around town would be a bonus. Guess what I am really asking is what are peoples favorite bolt on power boosters that will not void warranties, emissions, etc. I dont think there is alot I can do to this truck except add a intake kit. At least not that I am aware of at the moment. Thanks, and glad I found this site! |

I think the cia kit is better just the filter it lets the air flow better. As far as more power you can get a tuner like this one http://www.diablosport.com/index.php...lay&pid=50 Myself Id rather have a custom tune tune but I dont have a warranty. I dont think there is much more you can do and keep you warranty. But post on the Silverado forum thats were we all hang out and shoot the stuff.
