new memeber needs help 1995 5.7

Hello I am red2816 I just found this forum I am needing help very badly I have a 1995 Chevrolet K1500 silverado 5.7 TBI it has 310,000 miles on it what happened was last fall about October while I was on my way home completely out of know where all of the sudden my truck made about 4 loud backfires in a row I was only about half a mile from home and my truck was just barely able to make it.I have had this truck since 2010 it had 208,000 on it when I got it.I have went through the entire fuel system I have checked all of the ignition and nothing has helped. The only way it will run is to unhook the brown and white wire under the dash on the passenger side for the timing advance. The timing is set so far advanced that the valves sound like they are coming apart.I have not done any kind of modifications to my truck everything is still stock. Now I have had to drive the truck a little more than I want and when I first start the truck up it will start right up runs sorta rough then when you go to take off it wants to fall on it's face cuts out stumbles and barely runs after about a few minutes it starts to run a little better until you shut it off. Then when you go to start it back up it really runs like crap.It has no power it only gets about 5 miles a gallon or less. All of this has happened to it all at once there was no warning nothing I really don't know if it has jumped time or the computer has gone bad or if the timing chain jump a tooth or if there is something gone wrong in the distributor or what.Any one with any ideas would be greatly appreciated Thank You

Sounds to me like it's definitely out of time. You said you had to advance the timing with the distributor to get it to run at all correct? So I'm guessing you've jumped a tooth bub.
