Noob from Antelope, CA (Sac)

After a hit and run destroyed my last car (2006 Subaru WRX) I decided it was time for a little change of pace. Maybe something people can't miss and will see coming.

I replaced it with a 2007 Black GMC Crew Cab (?). Lowered on 22's. Tonneau cover and leather interior. That's about all it's got. The 4.8L seems pretty gutless, but I guess I can't expect it to accelerate like my WRX did.:D
Due to being lowered still got a stiff ride like the WRX, but I don't hear and feel EVERYTHING. There is actually insulation and road noise is not so high I don't have to speak up to hear myself think anymore.

Gas mileage isn't too terrible and the cost on gas between the two is about equal. Subie required premium, obviously the GMC doesn't. The WRX averaged about 19 mpg, due to my lead foot. The truck is averaging about 16 mpg. I've learned it doesn't accelerate fast, so why bother trying?

It is a new experience, I'm used to compact cars. Never really thought about how much of a difference there would be. But being a new home owner it has great utility. And as every vehicle I have had before, I'll get attached to it, oh wait, already did. Park a mile away from everybody. Picky about gas, oil and maintenance.

Hopefully I'll find a way to come up with the money for the Flowmaster cat-back. This beast doesn't make enough noise.

I'll get some pic's up sometime soon, maybe this weekend after I wash it.

Thanks for the welcome.

It'll rain on Sunday, so I'll definitely have to wash her tomorrow and get all those bugs from I-5 off. Then try to use a camera I have never even tried before. Sounds like fun.:D
