Default Opinions for Truck Base for Build

Experience building sand rails and the like. Looking to change it up for the next build. In the process of designing and fabricating a unique, custom body, but haven't settled on which truck to base it off of. I've spent a lot of time with f150's and the frames are very durable. I know chevy's seem to be top notch as well. Have heard a lot of horror stories with dodge and toyota. Basically, I'm interested in your opinions for trucks (and model year specific, if applicable) that come with good, solid frames, have significant aftermarket support, and can be modified fairly easily for the below activities without major geometry re-fabs. I'm thinking something around a 140" wheelbase or so (4 seater style, with room for spare).

The aim I'm going for is a good, all around off road vehicle. I spend a lot of time on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan, but I want to be able to hit more trails and climb some mud hills/bogs. Maybe climb some beginner to intermediate rock walls. Nothing like Hell's Gate or some of the crazier ones out West. I'm also aiming for street legal as well so I don't have to tow everywhere, as I have other toys that need towing.
