Choosing a Truck..
 

Okay, I've been thinking of what kind of Truck I want in the future but want to have a General knowledge of the truck I'm after.
As of right now I have a 1993 Chevy S-10 Pickup Long Bed.
I enjoy it, but I HATE rear wheel drive and the long bed.
I was thinking something bigger like my friend's F-150 and I want 4x4 and a regular bed.
I heard Dodge Ram's were nice but they have a lot of Transmission problems.
What do you prefer?

If you want a sport utility truck, go with Avalanche or Ridgeline.

For heavy duty, Silverado HD and Ford Super Duty are a nice pick.

I would strongly suggest getting out and sitting in them and going for a test drive. They are all different and all have their problems. I am partial to my GMC Sierra. Never had a problem with it, but it is alsojust barely 3yrsold. I bought it in Nov of 05, and have about 41,000 miles on it right now.

what are you going to use it for? hauling, towing, drag racing, your basic ride?
mileage, maintainance, new, used

all manufacturers have decent trucks in the light duty f-150 class.

as Dluv35 says get in and try them out. how you sit in it makes all the difference in the world. i'm comfortable in a dodge or ford, never in a gm, i own dodges. nothing wrong with gm, it just doesn't fit well. how about the radio, a/c etc are the controls comfortable to reach and adjust while you driving down the road?

rememberthe 4x4's are cool until you have to pay for all of the maintanence. tires do not last as long, mileage is less,and a lot more to service. personally if i didn't need one for business i would never own one.

but they are popular right now. but the real popularity right now is the heavier diesels with speed mods.

great deals out there right now and those will soon go away.
