Default Hitch Rack

I bought a little hitch rack to go on the back of our SUV on long trips and vacations. When we have used it I have come to notice I need to put something on the bottom of it to hook on to with the straps.

Here are some pictures

I enhanced it a little buy putting 8 i bolts through the metal and welded on 4 pieces of 2" by 1" 1/8 or something like that on to strengthen the mesh up. when I went to anchor something down the other day I had to hook on to the mesh underneath. Do you people have any ideas I thought about putting some I bolts on the side but you can catch stuff on it and I don't want to just put 4 pieces of angle iron on it because its heavy enough as it is if the little women tried to pick it up with the 4 pieces I would be in one hell of a bad situation.

I also put reflectors and reflective tape all the way around. I want to see someone run into me and tell the cops they couldn't see it. LOL

Looks good. Nice work.
I guy in our neighborhood has one of those too. They are surprisingly strong and can carry a good load.
I guess you don't want to forget it's there and back into another car

the mesh was flimsy that's why I put the pieces under it . I can stand on the mesh and not go through and I'm a big boy(310lb) so I'm guessing I probly increased the weight of the working load limit on it. I just wish it was a little wider so Could fit the snow blower a little easier. But I got it on sale at tractor supply so I had to get it.

any ideas for Anchor points on the bottom for those extra large objects like wood.
