My truck is better than your truck

I'm guessing that the subject line "My truck is better than your truck" will offer some life to the board.

All kidding aside I've been a GM person for as long as I need to remember but purchased the '05 Tundra about seven or so months ago and it's been behaving. I'm waiting to complain about it but to date all is well.

Does anyone know if it's common for MPG to improve as a truck is driven? I've never paid much attention to MPG but since buying the Tundra (and not my faithful GM) I've been more critical and over the months have been checking the gas mileage closely. The Tundra has been increasing 1-2 MPG about every 500 miles driven. I was happy getting 18 MPG but we're up to 24 now? Is this my wishful imagination or does mileage increase as a truck is driven and "broke in?"

Late post, but later then never is better.
A new motor is naturally tight, as it breaks in there is less friction.
Drive it like you stole it, break it in the way you plan to drive it, it's last forever.
I sure wish my 01 Ram got better then 15mpg.

I actually like the tundras. Toyota, cant go wrong with quality. And they look WAY better than the hondas or nissans.

Its nice, but I think they tried to hard to make it "Manly". It is a a few to many cutlines in it. Thats just my opinion though. That and 80 cents might get you a cup of coffee :)
