A rare company...

I just wanted to spread the word about a company that actually stands behind their product. A little over a year ago my wife talked me into upgrading my old cell phone to a Blackberry. When we were at the store I took one look at it and told her I would ruin that thing in about 10 minutes. I am hard on my phones and have always made sure I had the rugged - rubber coated ones. So she goes over to the sales counter and asks the salesman if they had any rugged covers for a Blackberry. He recommended one made by Otter Box. It looked like a well made product and he informed me that they have a lifetime warranty. Well I kind of rolled my eyes at that but figured I would give it a try. I can say one thing - for the last year I have abused this phone. It gets dropped all the time. I usually have some type of grease or oil on my hands from working on motorcycles and I still answer the phone. I have taken the cover off a couple times to wipe it off and the phone still looks brand new. About 2 weeks ago in all my wrenching I snagged the rubber cover and tore it. So I sent them an e-mail with my information all the while thinking OK when are they going to ask for my credit card for a "handling" fee. They told me I would have a new outer rubber sent to me right away. Low and behold in today's mail is not just the outer cover, but a complete brand new cover. It is a 5 piece unit including the belt holster - which they sent a new holster as well. I guess I am just not used to this kind of service these days and I wanted make sure they get the recognition they deserve! Otter Box is a rare company these days!

I love those things. I wouldn't leave my apartment without my otter box. That thing has saved me at least a grand in phone repairs over the last couple of years. I've actually had mine run over by a car at one point and come out mostly in one piece.
