its hard to say.. both are great trucks.

all the newer trucks nowadays are similar in quality. it just depends what YOU like in the trucks. They both have different strengths.

haven't really looked into fords as much but I know the newer dodges have coil spring rear suspension, which is great for hauling anything heavy and its a smooth ride. its all around a good truck. the cummins is a lot better than the powerstroke. Besides I think dodges look better Lol

I like the way the Dodge rides much better than the Ford.

Dodge is better than Ford in my opinion. I've driven a Ford F-250 before but it doesn't ride as well as my Dodge Ram.

For thirty five years my friend had Ford trucks, never had any trouble with one until the last 2005 F350 diesel dually crew cab. The overall quality of the truck has been fine, however he can't seem to cure the overheating problem it's had since he got it, so 2nd one is good.

My dad has the '07 Dodge Ram with the Cummins Diesel. We drove three hours with their huge fifth wheel trailer attached and I kept forgetting we even had the trailer on it. Impressive.

I really can't think of any reason to get a short bed pickup. They are a little shorter (so easier to park) and less expensive, but other other than that there are no real advantages. The longest bed available for the truck you are getting (generally 8' on a full size and 7' on a compact) seems like the logical choice for most people, since you have just that much more cargo space and really do not spend that much more.
