Long Haul Tow or Upgrade
 

Hey everyone, first time poster and first time Chevy owner. I bought a 2016 Silverado LTZ 1500 just over a year ago. Recently we also bought a 31ft TT with close to 8000lbs dry weight that I will be taking from Saskatchewan Canada to North Carolina, approximately 2400 miles one way. I bought a Husky weight distribution hitch to help pull it. I am a little concerned about towing that much weight, (I'm going to guess close to 10000lbs full) with my 1500 so I went to a dealership to look at 2500's. I can move into a 2500HD 6.0l gas All terrain for around $100 more per month. Probably wont be using it for another trip like that again but may have use from time to time after.

Looking for opinions on towing that big of a trailer with a 1/2 tonne and if the wear and tear on my 1500 with be worth the extra money for the bigger truck.
