No dash and no brake light
i have a 88 chevy c1500 that has no dash and brake lights. ive also notice that when i turn my headlights on my heater/ac control screen goes completely black I replace fuses, brake switch and tail light circuit boards. There is one lime green wire on the 2 wire connector for the brake switch that doesn't have home for it and im lost on trying to firgure it out. if anyone can help me firgure out this problem please do
It sounds like you might have a wiring issue. The lime green wire that doesn’t have a home could be part of the problem. It’s possible that the wire should connect to something related to the brake lights or dash lights.
First, check the wiring diagrams for your truck to see where the lime green wire should go. It might be for the brake lights or related to the dash lights.
Also, make sure all your grounds are secure. A bad ground can cause lights to act weird. If you can, test the wire with a multimeter to see if it’s getting power when it should.
If you're still stuck, a local mechanic or an auto electrician might be able to help trace the wiring and fix the issue.
