Default GM Quick Connect Heater Hose Connection

I have a '90 1500 Truck and the heater hose that goes into the manifold near the Distributor is showing signs of impending failure. Does anyone have a pick of one of these connectors or can tell me how it connects to the manifold? I would like to remove the quick connect and put in a regular hose nipple if possible. Is it threaded to the manifold?

Yes it is threaded into the manifold and will almost always break off. I highly recommend just replacing it with a nipple and regular heater hose. I have a special tool that removes them which, even with it, only works sometimes. I have done quite a few and have had some that threaded out, but on the worst one I ended up replacing the manifold. Good luck and be careful with it.

Yes it snapped right off, I pulled the manifold and used a die grinder and grinded until I was able to collapse the treads. I then used teflon paste on the nipple. Its all back together and seems okay. Thanks for the response.
