What is a good first truck in your opinion?
 

I have been on the market looking for my first truck for around a month now. I currently have a 09 Dodge Challenger (Mopar or No Car! lol), my dream car except its a V6 but it is not practical for me as I have got back into fishing and also need a truck bed to haul weed eaters and other stuff when I go and work. Because of the age and condition of the car I am looking at 5-6 grand for my budget on the truck and am needing it to daily drive for school and other work related stuff. I have been looking at several different makes and models like the Chevy Colorado (2005-6 era) with the Inline Five because of the gas mileage (High Schoolers Budget!). Early 2000's Ford F-150 with the Triton V8 because of the ability get lots of mile out of em. And the 2005-8 (2005 Generation) Dodge Dakotas for their looks and reliability and somewhat lower prices. I also would consider older trucks as I prefer boxier trucks to begin with but my family is advising me against it (Prove em wrong with a reliable old truck!) Overall, I was wanting an outside opinion because I am knee deep in tabs on my phone looking for the best deals on many different trucks. Appreciate y'alls advice!!

A good truck option is a 2005 F 1-50 or chevy up to you

It sounds like you're doing a lot of research on your first truck, which is great. The Chevy Colorado, Ford F-150, and Dodge Dakota are all options worth considering.

Since you mentioned looking at the early 2000s models, I suggest you keep Ford truckson your list. They are known for being reliable and have good options in your price range.
