3 second delay on door lock
 

I thought I posted this question - but ...
2010 Regular cab Chev. Silverado K1500. I locked my keys in truck the first time I shut the door. I heard a chime but by the time I got back to truck the doors locked. How can I dismantle the door lock? I am afraid I will accidentally push the door lock and then when I shut door it will lock. I do not understand why GM has the chime only ring for 3 seconds before the doors lock. STUPID in my mind. The manual does not give an option for the regular cab to disarm it.
