Default Going to be commuting with a 78K10...

I work out of state and I'm going to be pulling a fifth wheel camper with my k10. It needs a new transmission but I'm not sure what would be a solid one for long highway drives and occasional off roaring. Any ideas?

A solid built 700R4 would be the best on gas and good all around transmission. A turbo 400 would be stronger, but you would lose overdrive which you might not need if your always going to have the camper in tow. Replacing or rebuilding the same one you have will be the least expensive. What do you have in there now?

I have the SM465 but I tore it apart and there is a substantial amount of damage. I found a 700R4 with Transfer case shafts and flywheel for $310 but if it needs rebuilt it's going to be expensive...possibly looking into getting a new or factory refurb sm465...
