Key wont come out
 

Whats up folks. My name's Andy, and I'm from AR. I drive a 2002 Tacoma, double cab 4 x 4. Hopefully someone can help me with this so I don't have to pay a dealer to fix it. The town I live in is about 7000 people and all the mechanics that ive taken it to, dont know whats up or wont even look at it. My buddy, who's as good a mechanic as i know, couldn't figure it out and he suggested going to a forum. SO here i am...

What happened is, i jammed my shifter into park the other day and now the key will not turn all the way off and wont come out which causes lots of problems (key in truck, doors unlocked...) The key will turn to the ACC position but no further. Its not recognizing that the truck is in park. I checked the linkage and detents and they're both good and the gear selector is functioning properly so I don't believe it's mechanical but some electric swithch or sensor or something.
