my truck has 240,000 miles on it and has trouble when starting up cold. have to use the foot pedal to keep it running and runs with the choke on till engine reaches 130 degrees then I shut it off and pump the pedal and wait 30 secs. then it will start and purr like a kitten. do i have choke problems or carb problems or what,where should i be looking.

 

You are faceing the choke problem. You should get service to your engine. The problem will cure.

Did you get your Carb serviced? I had the same problem about a month ago. Took it to a place that specializes in Carburator rebuilding. In one day they rebuilt it for $330, and my 1984 Toyota now runs great! I had been struggling with cold starts for about a year.
