i have a 2003 avalanche z71 it start up fine but every time i put it n drive it start to act as if its going to cut off on me then it start running back ok in like 30 seconds i changed the fuel filter thinking that was the problem when i start to drive it cut off before i can make the block but then start right up with no problem can any 1 help me.

 

When is the last time you had the throttle body cleaned?

 

never i just gotten the truck how do i clean it i like to do my own work if i can

 

It's a very easy procedure. Just get an aerosol can of throttle body cleaner and take the intake tube off. You will see all the black carbon built up in there. Personally I like to remove the entire throttle body, but most people just clean them on the truck. A small toothbrush comes in handy for the tough stuff. Get it as clean as possible especially where the throttle blade meets the inner wall of the throttle body. Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.

that wasnt the problem im thinking its my idle air control valve or its a bad sensor any1 want to put there in put into it

 

ok i checked my throttle body it was clean same problem

 

I assume you don't have any codes popping up.

 

not to my knowledge but how do i know if i have any codes my check engine light is not on

 

Does it work...when you turn the key on it comes on and turns back off?
