00 Silverado ticking from under the hood

I just purchased a 2000 Chevrolet 1500 4x4 5.3L. Everytime I start it up when its been sitting I get a strange ticking noise under the hood, but goes away after I put it in gear and drive 20 feet. The oil level is full. Any suggestions????

If its just a cold tick,its carbon on top of the pistons...Not really hurting anything.
There is a top-engine cleaner procedure that will clean it,but it'll be back

or when the lifters are dry, they makea plunger type action, and it makes that sound. Get an oil filter without the drain hole in it, and that should help, along with lucas(or other) cleaning products.
