Default turbo ticking

99 ram 2500 with the 24valve cummins, when i am under a hard accelaration, eg. pullin loads, my turbo starts ticking at higher rpm, and the tick gets louder on longer pulls, is my turbo tryin to warn me that it is going out or what?, if i am empty, it doesnt make the noise, i dont lose power just makes a awfully loud ticking,it started about two weeks ago when an intercooler hose partly came off the turbo, i had no choice but to drive it 20 miles home to my tools to fix it, the hose wasnt completely off just one edge had slipped off, and input would help greatly
