08 1500 Vortec Max 6.0 hesitation

I change my oil every 5,000 miles. All I did was keep an eye on the oil level. I ran it hard after the first 500 miles, but I never really jumped into it from a dead stop. Even after then exhaust, CAI and hypertech programmer. After the programmer I ran it to 118 MPH, but only the 1 time. Basically what I am saying is by running it hard to me shouldn't really be a problem unless you are out drag racing it at the track over and over and over...

regular breakin
I agree about harrasing the dealership/s. Don't stand lower than them because this kind of thing definatly shouldn't happen obviously. The "super duty" transmission is the 4L70. I'm trying to learn more about this transmission in particular as it is relatively new. I don't think it has much difference from the 4L65 and 4L60s. I'm wondering (I don't think you would do this) if you had driven it a little hard in the begining since you said you had custom exhaust done at 500 miles. It's very tempting to hear all you can out of the exhaust once it's custom. Another thing...even though the owners manual says you might not even need to change the oil for almost a year! I don't trust that at all, when I got my truck I changed the oil at 600 miles, 1500 miles, 2500 miles, then again at 4000. Since then I change it between 2000-3000 miles. I'm a bit of an old schooler so I just wanted to make sure all the oil was completely clean during breaking it in. I didn't get the rpms over 3500 until after 5000 miles.
Thanks

Yea, there isnt much difference in the 4l60 and 4l70, the main difference is 5 planitary gears vs 4. i think there were a couple of other upgrades, but it still cant handle much power. these trans are weird, sometimes you can beat the crap out of them and they will last forever and sometimes you can be easy on it and drive like a grandpa and it will die within 10K miles.

If it bothers you then take it back. "Like I told the Ford dealership when it comes to my wife's Expedition. If It Sqeaks Funny It Will Be Back!" And just like I told the GMC Dealership too... Needless to say the customer service center knew me by first name basis. Made some enemies and made some friends... Also it made other dealerships loss customers and other dealerships gain customers..... LOL Thats what warranties are for. And only 13,000 miles on it. OH YEAH IT IS UNDER WARRANTY! 3/ 36,000 mile year bumper to bumper factory warranty.

Hell yeah take it back and make them fix it. While they have it ask them if it is more than a day and if yes then ask (Politely) for a courtesy vehicle to replace yours while it is in their dealer ship since it has been in a few times already for this problem. Also talk to the service manager about it being a LEMON. I know it's a bad word, but I fight for the freedom, I should be at least able to type it!

Say gpet6669 what branch are you in? I was in the Army for 4 years and got out and then joined the Air Force Resrve. And September 9, 2009 I will be deploying over to Afghanistan until February 2010. I just can not figure out am I fighting for our freedom or the Afghan's freedom? Anyhow I will be missing my truck greatly.....
