Getting a new silverado but i'm not sure if i should just get 4x4 or z71 package??

 

I thought the Z71 pack is 4X4?

 

well it is but z71 package has skid plates and what not installed where as 4x4 doesn't

 

Ill tell you what, the dealers want to get rid of trucks so bad they will give you the Z71 pack for nothing. If you are going to buy a brand new truck low ball the hell out of those guys!!!!!!!! Do it at 2 dealers and have one try and beat the other. I'm trying buy a Challenger and I met a guy that was getting a HELL of a deal on a new Dodge truck he said he is playing 3 dealers against each other. I could not believe how much these guys were kissing his ***!! I mean way more than then usual!! I want to pay the cash for my car and the didn't give me half the attention he got.

 

yeah i was looking at new dodges too and i couldve gotten an 08 hemi with 20's and nav for 20k...sticker was like 38. i decided to keep my silverado for now though.

 

I wish they are trying to get rid of Challengers like they are trucks.

I agree. It's a truck buyer's paradise, if you don't mind the gas price! Most dealers have such an inventory problem that they will do most anything. Don't be afraid of the sticker. Go for the most options and start by offering half the sticker price. I'm not joking, half! You may be pleasantly surprised.

I still can't do a RAM, no matter what the price was. Between my buddies 06 RAM and my girlfriends 98 Intrepid. I am just not impressed. My Silverado might be slower than a Hemi but the power isn't worth the ball joint replacements, broken window regulators, and countless other bugs in the electrical system. I have had one visit to the dealer since I bought my truck. My buddy had his much newer RAM back 4 times. He bought his roughly 6 months after I bought mine.
