Default 08 silverado volts

Ok so no one replied to my other post but I thought I would try again with another question. I just bought my truck a few days ago and noticed the volts go down below 14. It has done it three times now. I start my truck and it goes a little over 14v that is normat and after a few minutes of driving it will go down just below 14v. My guess around 13.5. I did read that my truck has a new kind of charging system designed not to overcharge the battery. I thought it would just reduce the amperage not the volts. Anyone else with a new style chev gm have this also. Is it normal now.

I do not have any indicator lights going on to show a problem with charging system.

Mine is normal at 13.6 in the summer, 14.4 when its cold out. I added an extra positive cable from the battery straight to the back of the alternator. This brought my volts back up to 13.9 almost 14 in this heat. This helps especially if you have power windows and all.

13.4 ,13.6 normal . If not sure, use a remote DVM with no load and than full load.
