Default 1978 GMC Sierra Project

Hi, I'm new to these forums, so be gentle, lol.

I'm going to be working on my truck when I get the funds. Here's what's going down.

I'm going to put a lift on it, a 4" inch lift at the axle, and possibly a 2" inch at the body.
I'm going to put either a new 350 in it or maybe a 401.
It's going to be painted Camoflauge and all the chrome will be painted over with gunmetal black.
I'm putting a camper shell on it with a spoiler and rearward facing KC lights on when backing up and at the flick of a switch, The camper shell (topper, whatever) will be cut out at the front and a roll bar will be fitted to wrap around and to the top of the shell, where a set of either 4-6 KC lights will be set up. These will be activated by a single switch.
I'm going to re-build, or maybe buy new, the tranny, and get the front axle switched to 3:73 for four wheel instead of 3:31.
The frame is going to be worked on as well as most of the fender work. Here's the truck now...

and here's the plans, but missing the camper shell and roll bar and lights set up.

yeah I'm not going to take it down a bunch at a time. First thing I'm doign is gettnig a reasonable engine in it for the time being. Then probably the panels, and everything after that progressivel.

Are you sure you want to go with the camo paint? It's kind of an odd choice, but then again hey, it's your truck. I wouldn't want some ******** on the internet telling me what to do. : )

You gotta keep us updated on this man. Looking forward to it.

Will do. Gotta get a job first, lol. But I've gotten estimates and stuff and it's looking like it's gonna be a 10k job.

Instead of "murdered out" he plans to "hick it out", lol. Cammo paint is common around where I work. No offense to anyone in here if they have this, But I hate a bright red truck (or some other bright color) with cammo bug guards, rocker guards, tail light covers, etc. Why? Just tell me why? lol

I'm going with camo because of my family's military back ground. I'm the first in the family that isn't able (due to a disability) to get into the military.
