Default 1987 sierra cruise I.D. for dummy

Just got a 1987 gmc sierra and am trying to identify if this truck was originally equipped with cruise control. It appears to have a aftermarket (newer) turn signal without the cruise button in the end of it, but under the hood there are "extra" accessories that have me wondering. So, for the dummy here, can someone please tell me what parts to look for that are strickly cruise control related so that I can determine if this truck was originally cruise equipped.
Or maybe breaking down the vin would help reveal this info????

thanks for the help

Do you still have the rpo code sticker in the glove box?

there is a "service parts identification" sticker; is this the 'rpo' sticker?

your rpo codes will be a sticker in the glove box it will be white and have a bunch of numbers or lettered numbers
if you see the service parts identification look a little more to the right of it and it should be in there but if there not then the previous owner may or may not have replaced the glove box

well im not really sure of how to tell if it was sposed to have cruise or not but for that year it may have been an option but not on your particular truck also check on the driver side engine firewall there should be a black box with a cable running to the carb that is your throttle cable
im not for certain if your year of truck has this or not it may just have a cable running from the gas pedal to the carb

this is a long shot on your truck but do you have the owners manual or did it not come with one
also there mybe a cruise fuse under the dash or hood
remove your fuse panel cover and look on there it should have a description or abrivation of what fuse goes where and what not it also may be under the fuse itself in real small lettering
the reason i ask if you have the owners manual is there is also a page with fuse locations in it
there is a website called compnine.com
it will tell you what your truck came with
write down your vin on a paper or whaterever go to the website
go to the reasearch on the right side of the page
go to vin identification
it will tell you alot about your truck
ps thanks shamrock for that cool website

Owners manual says that cruise control would be routed through a 20a Ign. fuse, along with 6 other things. So yes, there is a 20 amp ign. fuse, but this isn't really answering the cruise equipped question.
Any other suggestions?

well if ya wanted i would say go under your dash and look for wires that arent connected to anything
but i really dont know how to tell on that year of truck
if you have a mechanicaly inclined friend or buddy have them take a look at it or even take it to a local mechanic and ask them the simple question it never hurts to ask
let us know how it goes
