What is the best way to fix a crack in the frame right above the rear wheel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanx

 

I got the same problem.... I was told to get a piece of metal and wield over to help reinforce it... I don't have a clue I haven't done anything to mine yet but park it...

 

Gusseting it up is one way that will work. What I would be worried about is what it has done to the tracking of the truck. You didn't say why you have a crack (that sounds rude, lmao). Or if it is separated or just a hairline crack. You know that welding anything weakens the metal around it. That is why I might say that if the truck means something to you, you might want to take it to a quality body shop, have them put the lasers on it and see if the crack is from tracking issues. When you ask a question like this, anybody who really wants to help you will have more questions than answers. Did you buy it new? Have you had a string run from tire center back on both sides to see if tracking is off enough to show up. Have you wrecked it? How? What do you believe caused the crack? You should know and I do believe you do, is that a cracked frame without incident is a sign of tremendous pressure being applied sideways. In tracking by accident or off-road play, something happened that tweaked the truck. Is the frame higher on the cracked side? I would only suggest before you just have the local Muf Shop weld it, you spend the money to assure yourself that your just not going to transfer that pressure to another part of the frame.
