Aw man thats nice! Now I miss my 91!

There is soooo much you can do to that truck for cheap!

If you plan on building it at all, get vortec heads, a cam, exhaust and a chip and it should run with the 5.3s.

The only building I'll be looking to do at the time now is some cheap MPG upgrades, I know its a truck, but its also a 350V8 with 3:73 gearing and a 40 gallon fuel tank. I might try a few of the free mods but it is running beautifully right now and I don't want to compromise a good thing.

Good looking truck. Too bad it is a long bed... that is just my opinion. I prefer the short and wide. Now of course the suggestions begin. Someone already mentioned the chip. So now I will mention either the Edelbrock intake ( I recommend) and matching cam or a TBS. And of course all the other goodies: headers, underdirve pulleys, K&N, Exhaust, etc... And if you can fabricate a ram air system it will greatly improve the performance and MPG. I type from experience. And for goodness sake pull the silencer out of that stock air ducting tube or do like most poeple do and buy the ducting for the v6. It is a restrictive piece of no good plastic.

Yea I prefer the looks of the shortbed too, but we live on a farm and it is really frustrating all of the things we can't fit in the 6'6" bed on our GMC. Oh well I think it still looks pretty sporty with the orange pinstriping stickers on it

What worked for me on my 91 to get me started on more ***** and MPG is:

1. Dual exhaust = $200 and got about 1/2 a MPG, BUT it increased my top end quite a bit.
2. TBS (spiral) = $40 and got me better low to mid range power.
3. 180 degree stat = $30. No MPG Gain but increased over all power especially on hot days. (Don't do 160 it will suck down the fuel like crazy).
4. K&N Filter = Between this and the TBS I got 1 MPG overall and more HP throughout the entire RPM range.
5. TBIChips.com = 30 with 87 tune my get you another 1/2 MPG or so but the power increase is significant enough to justify it. You will get 1 MPG with a 93 octane tune (city and highway).

Before the heads, MSD, and headers on my 91 I got roughly 14 city and 16 highway with a short bed 305 with the above mods. (Had 3.42 gears and used 93 octane tune).

On my 90 model I ran the Edelbrock intake, JBA shorty headers, ASP Underdrive 3 piece pulley set, Dual exhaust (stock cat into a single glasspack and dual out), Hypertech chip (thermomaster) with 160 degree thermostat (I was suppose to use 93 octane, but ran 87 for mpg, the 93 octane made it run like a beaten dog, but MPG sucked), K&N filter, v6 air ducting, and fabricated ram air system as mentioned earlier and a tonnea hard cover. The cooler thermostat gave me more power over all.
In town I avraged 16 to 17 mpg and on the highway I got the lowest was 18 and as much as 22 MPG at 75 Miles per hour on the highway on numerous occasions. Oh yeah and I had a well warnout5.7 and 373 gears stock.
Before I sold my truck I took all the goodies off and transfered everything to my father's 90 model. The only difference was he ran electric fans. After adding all my goodies and his electric fan his MPG came up to roughly what I was getting, but he had the 342 gears.

here you go Major. Haven't seen you in awhile. Now 72Charger's back, so now we just need Argon.
