1993 GMC Sierra - vacuum line?
Hello all,
I recently purchased my first GMC 4x4 and am having some mild issues with it. It is a 1993 3500 and it has been stuttering inconsistently. I've replaced the air filter and the fuel filter. I'm going to tackle the EGR valve, the TPS, the IAC valve, cap, rotor and wires until I get to the bottom of the problem.
One thing I did notice which I doubt is connected but would like to fix is a loose hose that was dangling free on one end and broken on the other end. I've attached a couple pics of the part the hose is attached to. My manual doesn't have a pic of this part and as of yet I haven't figured out if it is part of the transmission or something else. I am wondering if it is a vacuum hose. At first I wondered if it was a transmission coolant line but that doesn't seem to add up. Does anyone recognize the part in the pic with the broken rubber hose attached to it? It is just back from the drivers side wheel. I would like to replace that line but don't know what it is and where it is supposed to go. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
MinisterMedic

Thanks for the help Nullhead. I found out that it wasn't the transfer case breather tube but the front differential breather. I emailed a pic to my local GM dealer and they ID'd it for me. I'm new to the 4x4 field having just graduated from a minivan so I have a bit of a learning curve
