Default 1995 2500 5.7L to 7.4L engine swap

Has anyone performed a 5.7L to 7.4L engine swap in this era truck? I am thinking of a project like this. Any input would be muchly appreciated ! The truck is equipped with a 4L80E also. Were the transmission internals the same from the factory if mated with a 454 ?
I love the truck ( 60K miles ) and figure some needed power for camping/towing is cheaper than a brand new rig!? And I like to tinker anyways.

Hey,
Im about to do/attempt the exact same project. Except mines an 89 1500 5.7 L 4x4

Im hoping the 454 won't cause too much drive train strain on mine. I know for mine i have to beef up my tranny because it's not able to handle that amount of power for a long time. It's a 700R4. Yours might be able to but i dont know forsure.

As far as i know, my 700R4 should bolt up to the 454. So i don't see why yours wont bolt up either. And im pretty sure im gonna have to mess with intake wire's and stuff like that...i think.

Im still in the process of getting the 454, guys don't want to let them go for too cheap.

I will let you know my progress along the way.

I do have one question for you guys , Do you think putting a 454 in these type's of trucks will twist the frame!?!?

Hey guys,
So i got my 454... Didnt come with computer or wire harness.

I assume the computer on these is different to a 5.7L. But where are these computers? inside the truck????

And my other question. How much of the wire harness under the hood belong's to the engine????

Any help would be helpfull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanx guys

Not sure about the wire harness but i do know the computer is located under the glove box. You need to take the glove box out and its still a bit of a pain to get at. but needs to be done.
