1997 4l60e

I have a 1997 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd 305, the trany went out and the junk yard said ONLT 97 2wd w ext cab will fit is this true or will some other year fit thanks phil 4l60e one piece trany

as far as I know the 97 is no diffrent than the 96 or 98 4L60E. my 97 suburban 2wd is the same as the pickup ones. the only diffrence may be output shaft length. but the right drive shaft will solve that.
