1997 chevy silverado
I recently bought a 1997 chevy silverado. When I bought it, I was told the gas gauge does not work. I was just wondering, did these year model trucks have a low gas light or if they do, would the low fuel light even work, since the gas gauge doesnt work?
No they don't, if they did and the gauge was broken where it read low all the time the low fuel light would be on. I have worked on a couple of the 99 and up models and they will do that. You'll either have it fix it or figure out a safe number of miles per tank and keep track until you can fix it.
I bought a 97 Silverado 2500 plow truck. After my first plow on my road I noticed a few leaks. The transmission fluid cooling lines and fuel lines were leaking a little bit. I brought it to the shop and they quoted $250 all in to replace the transmission fluid lines, but a WHOPPING $1200 - $1500 for the fuel lines. I only see one spot in the fuel line thats wet but man, does that price seem right? They say each part is separate and costs ~$250 - $350 per section of line and 9 hours labor. Thoughts?
