Default 1997 Silverado c2500 help.

Ok, i have a 1997 silverado c2500.

It has a running problem, the engine stumbles and falls on its face when you accelerate from idle- an sometimes dies. Sometimes it is hard to restart unless you wait a good 10 mins and then it will start right up.

Ive tested throttle position sensor and cam sensor as per chiltons manual.

I replaced the fuel filter, distributor cap rotor, spark plugs and wires, CAS, checked the fuel pressure(running 48-52psi).

Does anyone have any ideas at all here, im pretty stumped atm...

Thanks!

Sounds like running rich and flooding the engine to me. I don't know what the fuel pressure is supposed to be but yours seems high to me. I am new to fuel injection, so it may be fine. But it does sound like flooding for some reason.

Boy, some days I feel like the poster boy for oxygen sensors.....

I'd recommend testing for a sluggish response from your oxygen sensor. That could very well cause the symptoms you describe. Se my comments in the recent post 1999 5.3 liter silverado
