Default 1998 GMC Quits Running Does Re-Start

I have a friend with a 1998 GMC full size standard box pickup that quits running approx every couple of months with no rhyme or reason. It has the larger V8 motor with approx 135K and he has replaced the fuel pump, distributor, wires, ignition module and coil and it still quits running but will re-start in approx 10 - 20 minutes on it's own and it is fully warmed up when it dies out.

Any thoughts on what else to suspect? I am thinking ignition or fuel issues but I am no expert. Otherwise it runs good but.........seems to be running out of parts to replace. Thanks for any advice.

Honestly it's going to be easiest to find a direction to go if you can figure out what's missing - be it spark, fuel or compression. Just gotta have the tools ready to figure out which one of those is dropping out.
