1998 K1500 - Soft (Spongy) Brake Pedal
Hi all,
Has anyone experienced a soft, spongy brake pedal on their K1500 after replacing brake lines, master cylinder, and brake booster? All lines were thoroughly bled as well, and there is no noticeable leaking anywhere. The pedal seems to get softer, rather than harder the further I press down on it. Stopping power is there, which leads me to believe it's more of a pedal issue. It's hard to explain, but definitely not the way it used to be.
Apologies if this has already been posted, but I'm new here and learning. I appreciate anyone's advice or shared stories on this.
Thank you

I would verify that the system is fully bled. Start at the farthest wheel away from the master cylinders and then go to the next farthest until you’re at the one nearest to MC.
Did you put new pads & shoes on? It seems you May need to file the tabs on the front pads so they will smoothly slide across the stainless steel anti-rattle clips. No matter what quality of front pad I buy they need to be filed / trimmed.
So, I would check to make sure the front pads aren’t hanging up while the brake pedal is depressed - causing a delayed application.
When was the last time you checked or adjusted the rear brakes? Would be worth your time to check.
I’m betting there is still some air in the system. Either trapped in a caliper or a line but would do a complete check as I described. Keep us posted.

I’m new to these forums so I apologize if this isn’t the right place for the problems I’m having.
My brakes work fine, All new brake lines, front rotors and pads, new Master Cylinder, back drums and shoes are fine.
my problem is if I hit the brakes at a high rate of speed my pedal jumps very slightly and the slower I get while on the brakes the truck does a really slow jump like it’s wobbling to a stop.
