i have a 1999 Silverado Z71 with the 5.3 v8. the truck has codes but the check engine light does not come on. it does display other messages like. washer fluid low. change oil and low fuel . but even tho it has codes nop check engine light. any ideas?

 

Somone pulled the bulb more than likely. Have you had the truck long? Has it ever worked?

 

My cruise and high beam indicator lights went out and so did the one for the SES. Most likely the bulb on yours. Very easy to replace.

 

does it have its own light? i thought it came thru the message center like the other warnings?

 

No it sits between the cruise and high beam. The one your talkin bout is the info center. There is also an SES light. It uses the 914 bulbs I believe.

 

oh ok i was thinking it showed up there for some reason. i will check for that bulb
