hey, i'm looking at buying a 2001 sierra with a 4.8L the only thing that im little worried about is that it has 250,000 km on it. is this ok or is it to much km? how many km can u get out of this motor?

 

I know this is probably late in getting to you...but I'd hold out for a 5.3L, The 4.8L is a bit of a turtle. I had it in my old Silverado, 1999 1/2 and it was a dog! If you had to jump on it to get out of the way, it would make all sorts of noise and go no where!

 

i own a 2000 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 with the 4.8L and i love the thing. there must of been some thing wrong with yours cause i have a 6in lift and 35in toyos on 20in ultras and i can peel out like nothing and have beaten many 5.7L when i raced them(just for kicks) and thats with a bone stock engine with 150,000 miles and i gets good gas milage(15-18). i think that both are good engines go by price by my opinion.
