Hello, I'm new to this group and am seeking information about removing my trasfer case from my 2002 2500 HD. The transfer case is making a loud clunking noise in 4x4 and I've been told the chain is likely slipping causing the noise. I ordered a new chain, seal kit, and case saver plate for the pump. I was just looking for advice on removal of the t-case and tear down of the NP263XHD.

Got the transfer case out, was way easier than I anticipated and it only weighs about 85 pounds. Once I got it apart I found that the pump was shot as were the shift forks and the rear case half. I got all the parts ordered and should have it together tomorrow. I guess it was just lack of maintenance. I bought the truck (2002 HD) last year and the previous owner apparently didn't service the transfer case.
