Default 2002 C1500 wind noise

Ihave a 2002 Chevy C1500 extended cab 4 door. When driving it has a wind noise on the passenger side that sounds just like rain hitting the windshield. Does anybody have any idea what this is and how do you stop it?

your bug shield (aftermarket) is causing a turbulence that is flapping the weathersrips around your windshield...it starts around 70?

Mine does the exact same thing. Always here it when i get on interstate.Actually drives me nuts. and yes i have the Avs windjammer thingy on front of hood.. When you say weatherstrip on front glass do you mean the stiff rubber around the glass itself? For awhile i thought it was the rubber pieces in hood hinges. lol IF you find a fix lemme know....thx ....Billy

I have the same problem and I'm about to stab myself in the ears! I thought it was those rubber flaps that cover the hood hinges and I ripped em off.... still makes the noise. I also have a bug deflector but I don't see anything loose that could vibrate to make that racket.

the rubber strips around the windshield guys...across the roof and down the sides..aftermarket bug shield cause that turbulence...a gm one will not...

gm parts are a rip-off,eh?

Yes the truck has the bug deflector and vent visors.I had looked at the door alignment and everything that i thought could be making the noise, but never thought about turbulence from the bug shield. My shield is bolted on so it would be easy to remove and see for sure.

Thank you all for the answers.

Argon you are the man! Just went out and unbolted the bug deflector made a pass down the interstate at about 75 and no noise! Thank you very much! I have only had this truck for about three weeks and love except for a few little things. When sitting still and you turn the wheel from left to right and you can feel the truck raise a little from one side to the other there is a dull sqeak that comes from the front end also when you make a turn left or right. This is a 2 wd truck. Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave
