RustyFordLover - Being in Alaska I'm sure that's not a problem! Haha, here in Phoenix it pulling the A/C belt wouldn't be an option.

I did end up changing the belt when I was in there changing out the pump. Have driven about 800 miles and still no whine.

 

True, I suppose that wouldn't be fun at all.

I had a guy tell me once about my 2005 GMC Sierra 4x4 when I was having problems with the brakes. It has the four wheel disk brakes on it, and tey where squealing. i changed out the rotors, and pads, and it was even worse. I tried a few ways to make the sound go away, and finally took it to the dealership to see what they would say, and the guy tooked at it, and told me to just turn the radio up.

 

Hi there, I just bought a 2004 Silverado 2500 had 4x4 with 277k miles. Engine was just rebuild about 70k miles ago. And had the truck for two months and now is starting to make a whining noise when I accelerate and brake. Seems to only happen once engine is warm. Just replaced transmission fluid and filter, hoping that was the issue. Unfortunately it did not help. Gonna replaced power steering fluid, brake fluid, and both differential fluid ( doubt it is any of those fluids) but cheapest way about going forward to see issue.next thing would be having transmission rebuilt or new one. Any help would be much appreciated
