Default 2004 Silverado Electrical Question

So tonight on my way into town the check engine light came on, this is during the day light hours. on my way home after dark I notice that the dash lights are not on, and the automatic headlights are not working. the head lights work by turning them on manualy. so I stopped at the parts store to have them put a scanner on it and would not register anything. so here is what is not working, diagnostic port, auto head lights, dashlights, heater control lights, electronic 4x4 lights and4x4 not working. But here is what is working digitalgear selection and odometer on dash, radio works, heater controls work, but no lights, all turn signals and brake lights work, door and window locks all work. So anyone else seen this issue? Thanks.

Scott

Fuse. You said the port has no power. My freinds truck had no power there and it was a fuse.

check the lighter fuse it is ussually linked to the Diag port...it sound like you had a casscading failure in fuses....check them and your headlight switch
